Emily's parents broke up. Her father was barred from ssing her. he only saw her twice after that. The last time was at a hospital after a severe beating

Emily's neighbours report to the police that she is being beaten and tortured.

Emily suffers a broken arm after being beaten
May , 2004
Emily is injured after falling down a flight of stairs. Neighbours heard her step father yalling at "get up girl get up". Even though she was injured she was not taken for medical attention

Emily's mother Anita is charged with abandoning and neglecting Emily.

Emily is placed in a safe house in May and September

An appilication is made for Emily to become a ward of the state

Emily's mother and grandmother apply for custody of Emily.
December 22, 2005
Sadly custody is granted to Emily's mother and grandmother.

Emily returnes to her mother and step father's house
May 15, 2006
Passed away on May 15, 2006.
The report said there were abrasions in the child’s mouth, while her hymen and anus had been ruptured.
An autopsy revealed that Emily died as a result of being beaten, raped, buggered and tortured with cigarette butts.

Emily's mother is free after being charged with six counts of child neglect.
